Marketing Online - on Long Tail Keyword Research
Doing keyword research is often a task that requires a lot of ground work, and by that I mean it requires you to spend a bit of your time working. The MAIN reason why most websites fail is due to poor keyword research. Right now there are quite literally millions of keywords out there with little or no competition.
By setting aside some time and doing indepth research you will discover these keywords and will find it much easier to make a profit in a short space of time.
You will want to target long tail keywords first (3+ temrs), this is for 2 reasons.
1) You will get visitors within a short space of time
2) The longer you website is in the search engines the more trust it gains. In a year or 2 down the road you will stand a much better chance of ranking for 1-2 phrase keyword terms.
My top 3 tips when performing keyword research are as follows
1) Make maximum use of the tools that are available to you. Use the google search engine to see how many times your keyword is mentioned in the title or body. Anaylze the competition.
2) Aim to find 3+ phrase keywords when starting of. If you find any 1 or 2 word keywords with no competition then great if not dont worry about it. You can try and rank for them later on down the road
3) Take your time. Keyword research is probably the most important part next to link building when building a website
