This year my wife started her own Photography business. We had about five thousand dollars in start-up costs (Camera, Computer, Photoshop, website, etc). Can we write those expenses off? What do we need to do in order to do so? What about gas money and car related expenses if she uses it to go to shoots? She hasn't made a lot from the business yet so I don't think there will be an income tax on the business yet. Please help.
